Earth Hour is an annual global event organized by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) where communities are encouraged to save energy by turning off lights and electronic devices for one hour from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm local time. Keeping in line with their values of social responsibility towards the environment and nature, Red Sea Mall participated for the seventh time in the global “Earth Hour” event, which also happens to be its 12th anniversary since the launch of the campaign in Australia.
Mohammed Al-Asiri, Marketing Manager at Red Sea Mall, emphasized the mall’s interest in this initiative, encouraging individuals and institutions to minimize daily electricity and water consumption, fight pollution, and contribute to recycling. “Red Sea Mall supports environment-related initiatives based on our strategy of sustainability and conservation of natural resources", says Mohammed Al-Asiri. He pointed out that the human-environment relationship necessitates the need to work for the benefit of both as one entity within the social sphere.
Earth Hour, the world's largest environmental event, brings together more than 7,000 cities globally this year, with people around the world turning off electric lights for one hour (60 minutes) in solidarity to combat the effects of climate change, and as a representation of the power of collective effort.
