RCRC completes preliminary northeast Riyadh master plan

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) completed the preliminary master plan for a 456-square-kilometer (sq km) area northeast of Riyadh, near King Khalid International Airport, Wadi Al Sulay and the Dammam and Al Janadriyah roads.

The plan outlines proposed land uses under a long-term urban model supporting phased expansion, with integrated communities combining housing and daily services alongside a balanced mix of residential, commercial, recreational and natural areas, the state-run Saudi Press Agency reported.

RCRC said the plan is part of Riyadh’s long-term expansion strategy, guiding one of the city’s future growth corridors, aiming to improve quality of life, expand green spaces and preserve natural valleys through integrated planning.

RCRC said the Northeast Riyadh master plan is an initial planning framework, not a new development project, adding that detailed plans will follow and any updates will be announced through official channels.
