Qassim’s mineral resources are estimated at SAR 122.3 billion, Jarrah Al-Jarrah, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, said on X.
He added that Qassim is a reservoir of precious metals including gold, silver, copper and lead, in addition to tin, granite, tungsten and molybdenum.
The value of gold is estimated at SAR 87.7 billion, bauxite (SAR 24.6 billion), zinc (SAR 4.7 billion), copper (SAR 4 billion), and silver (SAR 1.4 billion), according to the official.
Al-Jarrah also indicated that the region includes 35 mineralized belts, including 16 mineralized gold belts, 15 mineralized copper and lead belts, three mineralized nickel belts, and a mineralized zinc belt.
Qassim also contains eight sites for phosphate ore reserves, and a mining complex for bauxite ore mining activities, said the official, highlighting the mining complex projects dedicated to building materials in the province, whose number is 32 mining complexes, including 17 gravel complexes, nine sand complexes, and six mining complexes for backfill materials.
There are 580 factories in the province. 84% of industrial facilities are concentrated in four main cities, namely Buraidah, Unaizah, Al-Rass, and Al-Badayea. The most prominent industrial sectors in the province include food products and beverages, the manufacture of basic products, pharmaceuticals, in addition to the manufacture of rubber and plastic products, he stated.
