The Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, represented by the Planning and Development Department - Trakhees, has announced the launch of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) at the central laboratory for Environment, Health, and Safety Department within the corporation. This initiative aims to meet the growing market demand and provide more efficient, accurate, and speedy services. The new system effectively supports the smooth methodology and organizational interconnectivity nature of the laboratory, contributing to enhancing operational efficiency and data management.
Engineer Abdulla Balhoul, CEO of the Planning and Development Department - Trakhees at the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, stated that this step is part of the corporation's strategy and continuous efforts to adopt modern technologies and achieve digital transformation aligned with Dubai's strategy in digitizing life. This initiative follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, emphasizing listening to and keeping pace with the evolving needs of customers driven by technological advancements. The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is widely used globally, enabling centralized management of all essential elements for laboratory operations. It automates workflow processes, eliminates the need for manual data entry, and enhances operational efficiency by effectively tracking, storing, and updating information in its database. LIMS distinguishes through its automated system that monitors and manages all laboratory services and requests, eliminating routine manual processes such as request logging, sample entry, report review, storage, and signing. All these operations are executed smoothly and automatically within the system, saving considerable time and effort.
