Nissan Enriches Saudi Football Fans’ Experience of UEFA Champions League Finals

As part of its innovative partnership with Europe’s most prestigious football competition, Nissan held a live broadcast of the UEFA Champions League finals at Bert’s Café in Jeddah, where it invited media representatives and football lovers to revel in the excitement and passion of world-class football between two of Europe’s most prominent football teams, FC Barcelona and Juventus.

In celebration of the official automotive partnership with the UEFA Champions League, Nissan spared no efforts in holding an event that resembled the finals match that took place in Berlin, decorating the venue with flags and football extravaganza, allowing fans to witness the Spaniards’ victory in true football spirit. Nissan also set up stands featuring a variety of their car models, where guests got the chance to get up close and personal, inspecting the innovative technological features that each had to offer.

Abdulilah Wazni, General Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Nissan Saudi Arabia, said: “We wanted to bring the excitement of the stands in Berlin to our football fans here in Saudi Arabia, to enrich their experience of the tournament and give them a space where they could cheer for their favorite team with their fellow fans.”

“Nissan’s long history supporting a variety of sports has helped us bring to life our brand values of Innovation and Excitement, and our partnership with the UEFA Champions league is no exception. Football is a very popular sport amongst the Saudi youth, and is watched closely; therefore we used this opportunity to introduce and familiarize young Saudis to some of our models and innovative features,” Wazni added.

Throughout its first season as UEFA Champions League partners, Nissan has worked with UEFA to develop a series of engaging fan activities including the UEFA Champions League Goal of the Week, competition as well as giving fans and partners access to exclusive away-team training sessions the day before the match.

Nissan is the official global automotive sponsor of the UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Champions League, with a deal that will cover the period 2014/2015 to 2017/2018. As an official partner Nissan will be involved with Europe’s most prestigious club football competition through a number of its exclusive products and services.
