Nikon launches powerful D7200, the most advanced DX-format DSLR, at Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper 2015

Free Nikon School sessions offered at ADES, along with various opportunities to win prizes

Nikon Middle East FZE today launched the D7200 DSLR camera for the first time in the Middle East at Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper (ADES) 2015, following its global release in February. Combined with the renowned reliability of the D7000 series’ pedigree, the D7200 delivers exceptional performance with outstanding technology, innovative imaging solutions for low-light photography, and a new seamless Wi-Fi connectivity feature.
With reliable ingenuity for life’s adventures, the Nikon D7200 pushes the limits for enthusiasts with a suite of superior features. Packed with an EXPEED 4 image-processing engine and a Nikon DX-format CMOS sensor, the 24.2-megapixel DSLR delivers an impressive experience of vivid photos and HD videos with lower noise at high ISO, and superior image processing speeds. Outstanding image quality is further assured even in low-light conditions, with the new autofocus (AF) sensor module. The Nikon D7200 takes the journey further by allowing photographers to share adventures in real time via built-in Wi-Fi® connectivity with Near Field Communication (NFC)-support , the latter being a first for Nikon DSLRs.
Narendra Menon, Regional Head Sales and Marketing, Nikon Middle East and Africa said, “Abu Dhabi is a strategic market for Nikon, and we see huge business potential because of the booming economy and increased interest in photography. Additionally, consumers are looking for avenues to interact with brands locally, making our presence in Abu Dhabi vital. We are bringing our globally renowned Nikon School for the first time to Abu Dhabi Electronic Shopper 2015, which provides a great platform to reach out to the growing number of photography enthusiasts in the capital.”
In addition to launching the new camera, Nikon continues to reinforce its commitment to consumers by providing an uplifting consumer experience through various competitions and activations at their stand at ADES 2015.
“We are looking to involve customers at our ADES stand, so they can experience Nikon cameras in new ways while also giving them a chance to win prizes,” said Tarek Abdelrahman, Regional Head, Customer Satisfaction Department, Nikon Middle East and Africa, “For example, we are hosting a live fashion show at ADES this year at our stand with the aim of crowning ‘Ms. Photogenic’ and ‘Mr. Photogenic’ who will walk away with a D3300 each along with a modelling portfolio created for them by Nikon. We will also be holding a fashion photography competition at a ramp, where a select few pre-registered participants will be given an opportunity to capture photos from the live fashion show using various Nikon cameras and lenses. These photos will be judged by a panel of Nikon experts, and winners have a chance to win Nikon vouchers worth AED 1,500.”
“We are thrilled with the amazing response we have received following the announcement of these contests, which has seen an overwhelming number of participants pre-register on the ADES website for each competition. The Abu Dhabi community has shown their enthusiasm for these activations, and we believe we are on the right track in terms of understanding and catering to their needs,” added Abdelrahman.
As part of their on-going dedication to developing photography talent across the region, Nikon is bringing Nikon School for the first time to ADES, with leading experts imparting key DSLR photography skills across three sessions. Nikon School is a global initiative by Nikon consisting of educational photography classes that aims to enhance the creative and technical skills of photographers, educating them on how to make the most of their DSLR camera. The courses cater to participants of all levels, from absolute beginners to professionals, with all classes taught by Nikon-certified instructors.
Abdelrahman explained, “The Nikon School is free to attend for anyone visiting ADES, and our main aim behind bringing this to the event was to raise awareness about DSLRs and how the cameras can be used anyone looking to capture their life milestones. There is a misconception that DSLRs are only made for professional photographers, and we want to show that this isn’t the case.”
Nikon will be located at ADES in Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), Abu Dhabi at stand # B-10.
