Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Majd Shweikeh said themes of the National Tourism Strategy 2019-2023 are closely aligned with the Jordan 2025 vision, the stimulus plan for economic growth and the national renaissance project.
Chairing the fourth session of the National Council for Tourism meeting, Shweikeh said the themes integrate with the Jordan Tourism Board's marketing strategy in identifying patterns and markets for adventure tourism, religious tourism, therapeutic and hospital tourism, conference and exhibition tourism, and cultural tourism.
The strategy developed by the Ministry in cooperation with the private sector adopted guidelines that included sustainability, innovation and accessibility as well as the pursuit of achievable goals, the minister added.
The council reviewed a presentation on the national strategy for the next five years, presented by the council deputy chairman and the Ministry's secretary general, Issa Gammoh, in which he reviewed partnership efforts exerted by the Ministry with the private sector in developing the strategy, and made it available to those involved in the tourism sector.
