Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government Hosts High-level Delegation from Kazakhstan’s Academy of Public Administration

Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBSRG), a research and teaching institution focusing on public policy in the Arab world, received a delegation from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (APA).

His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, His Excellency Dr. Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President, and Mohammed Al Khatib, Director of Corporate Communications, represented MBRSG at the meeting.

The high-level representatives discussed partnership opportunities with the delegation led by His Excellency Kairat Lama Sharif, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE. The delegation also included His Excellency Arman Issagaliyev, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Dubai and Northern Emirates, and Dr. Fatima Zhakypova, Rector of APA.

During the meeting at the MBSRG headquarters in Dubai, the two parties reviewed the key outcomes of the cooperation agreement they signed in 2016. The document aligns with the UAE government’s call to strengthen knowledge-based partnerships among government entities on a local and international level.

Having identified the focus areas for 2017, MBRSG and APA set an action plan for a student exchange program to provide potential young leaders with insight into government work and enhance their government expertise.

Speaking on the visit, His Excellency Dr. Ali Sebaa Al Marri said: “The UAE has made commendable progress in the public policy domain. Our government’s experience is unique and worthy of being spotlighted on a global scale. At MBRSG, we believe in the importance of benefiting from all successful international experiences in this area, given the dynamic global shifts and evolution in fields such as technology and innovation.”

He added: “The visit of the Kazakhstan delegation to the school comes within the framework of strengthening the partnership between the UAE and Kazakhstan, especially within the scope of government work. It also reiterates our keenness to extend bridges of cooperation, and exchange knowledge and experience among various government agencies on an international level as part of our commitment to shaping future leaders.”

Concluding the visit, the delegation toured the school facilities including the Emirates Center for Government Knowledge. MBRSG representatives introduced the visitors to the school’s latest research activities and the new set of academic and training programs offered. In addition, His Excellency Dr. Ali Sebaa Al Marri highlighted the school and the center’s future expansion plans on a par with international best practices, including the fourth-generation system of government excellence.

For her part, Dr. Fatima Zhakypova commended MBRSG on its efforts in transferring knowledge, supporting government excellence and building future leaders. In addition, she stressed Kazakhstan’s interest to benefit from the UAE’s rich experience in the field of public administration.
