Minister’s visit strengthens Saudi Arabia-New Zealand relationship
New Zealand Associate Trade Minister Todd McClay has today concluded bilateral talks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. “My visit was an opportunity to further strengthen our relationship and highlight New Zealand’s commitment to partnering with Saudi Arabia in areas including food security, infrastructure, and services.
“It also gave me an opportunity to share New Zealand’s expertise in asset management and government services, and to build on the already strong relationships in the region,” says Mr McClay.
New Zealand exports $600 million worth of product into Saudi Arabia. Total two way trade between the two countries is $1.5 billion. “New Zealand views the GCC as an important trading partner,” says Mr McClay. Mr McClay has also visited the United Arab Emirates and Qatar during his week-long visit to the region.
