Middle East Cleaning Technology Week Ends on a Positive Note

The 4th Middle East Cleaning Technology Week (MECTW) that concluded on Tuesday (15th November 2016) hosted over 130 exhibitors and attracted over 4000 attendees in three days. According to the organisers, the show was 20% bigger in size this year, with exhibitors delighted with the quality of the visitors.

The last two days of the event played host to a number of live product demos and industry specific conferences for cleaning and laundry sector. The event also recognised professionals from housekeeping, laundry and facility management with the ‘Excellence Award’ organised in association with UAE Professional Housekeepers Group.

“We are very happy with the results. The feedback from exhibitors, industry pavilions and industry leaders is very positive. We also hosted successful conferences, with a refreshed programme that focused on ‘innovation’ in the cleaning, laundry, and car care industries. We believe that the three trade shows, conferences, awards and associated events, were productive in generating awareness about the existing and future opportunities in the cleaning sector within the region. We are now eager to expand all existing platforms in 2017.” commented Jayaraman Nair, Chairman of VIS Exhibition - organisers of the show.

Exhibitors and visitors hailed the show a resounding success, and expressed their confidence in the Middle East as one of the key growth markets for cleaning products and services.

Mia Kotovsky, Business Development Manager, Intercare, said that the company has chosen the show to introduce four new products, including the revolutionary ORBOT Marble polishing machine. “We are receiving good response from the visitors for our products at MECTW. We launched a number of products including Dulevo 6000, Solar Compactors, and Multiflex from Whiteline, which is a unique cartridge for detergent.” The company is a leading supplier of cleaning and hygiene products in the UAE.

Carst Parchow, General Manager – UAE, Albariq Equipment, which is a cleaning equipment supplier, said, “The event is a platform to network with the regional cleaning community. We have launched two new products, a walk behind scrubbing machine and a right on scrubbing machine from Factory Cat and FIMA respectively.” The company also demoed the scrubbing machine from FIMA on the second day of the event.

Victor Bastian, Assistant Vice President, Linencraft, said "The laundry sector is increasingly focusing on adopting new and smart technologies and working to improve sustainability, but there is no common platform to share knowledge and showcase developments in the sector. We see MECTW as an ideal stage to share knowledge and latest innovations, that can significantly contribute to enhancing efficiencies to improve services in the laundry sector."

Alexander de Wit, Managing Director, R+M Suttner GmBH, which exhibited its foam car wash, said, “We are here to feature a new type of car washing technology that is touchless and uses foam. Our products are German manufactured and are apt for the UAE market as it reduces the water usage. We have been receiving interest from a lot of visitors, not only from the Middle East but from other Asian countries too. The show gives us access to the wider Asian market, that’s one of the reasons we are here.”

A visitor at the show, Biswajeet Goswami, Business Development Manager, Al Ahli Plastic Industries “Many products displayed at the show for waste management, cleaning, and hygiene are innovative and new to the region. I came across some interesting products that improve air quality, and recycle waste water, which is beyond the normal cleaning technologies that we previously knew of.”

“I am from Cameroon, and attending the show for the first time. My company provides building cleaning services, and MECTW has a lot of new knowledge for companies working in the cleaning sector. We found everything we are looking for here, which is impressive,” said another visitor, Yann Ktchanga, Manager of Bati Clean.

The three-day event concludes today, and according to organisers, work on MECTW 2017 has already begun.
