Microsoft empowers UAE businesses, education institutions and essential government organizations to achieve more, with the latest Surface devices

Professionals across a number of vital sectors including essential- organizations in government, healthcare, education and private sectors are using the latest Microsoft Surface devices to uphold critical business, services and learning. The devices, which are from the recently launched roster of Surface products, are part of the UAE digital debut of the new product range.

The Microsoft Surface Go 2, Surface Book 3, Surface Dock 2 and Surface USB-C®Travel Hub have been designed for power and secure portability. Their issuance to vital industry sectors across the country is intended to empower organizations to operate efficiently and safely at a time where their operations underpin the wellbeing and business continuity of others in the community.

Appealing to consumer and commercial users alike, the Microsoft Surface range has become known for its ability to cover a wide number of use cases. As an illustration/example, the UAE’s Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, National Ambulance, and Emirates Foundation, have all received devices in line with their operational models.

“Microsoft technologies have changed the way we work, think, and collaborate. I don’t think people will ever want to go back. We’ve removed the compromise from collaboration. Because the hardware and software are intrinsically linked together, the Surface range gives us more than we could get from any other device.’’ said Peter Jamieson, Chief Technology Officer at Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, United Arab Emirates.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Microsoft has also worked with first responders across the UAE to overcome challenges of service and business continuity, while maintaining strict standards of health and safety.

“We owe so much to first responders for their dedication and bravery,” said Sayed Hashish, General Manager, Microsoft UAE. “Their efforts to step up capacity and keep us safe are commendable. We can, and must, support first responders while they protect our lives and livelihoods. Microsoft feels that the very least we can do is to empower them with productivity, mobility, and speed.” Hashish added.

The new, compact 2-in-1 Surface Go 2 has a bigger, 10.5” touchscreen display, starts at 544 grams only*, and comes in Wi-Fi and LTE options, empowering first line teams and first responders organizations to connect from the field, on the go, from home or office with the full power of Windows 10 Pro and Microsoft 365 applications.

“We’ve provided the Surface Go as our laptop of choice for our first line responders. The devices are easy to use in the field and come equipped with a low thermal design power processor, which doesn’t require active cooling for the device. The fact that there is no fan inside and air vents outside the tablet is very important for us, as we are running an emergency ambulance service with outside temperatures reaching very hot temperatures. The Microsoft Surface Go with the use of a rugged case plus an accidental damage cover outperformed many other competitors. The devices allowed us to have a cost-effective solution to run our electronic patient care records system, our inventory management system and all our administrative tasks in the field, with the impact of providing better services for the United Arab Emirates.’’, said Craig Tyson, MSc lSM, ePMO and IT Manager at National Ambulance, United Arab Emirates.

The most powerful Surface laptop yet, the new Surface Book 3 pairs speed, graphics, and long battery life with the flexibility of a robust laptop, processor-powered tablet, and portable studio. Surface Book 3 maintains its unique detachability form-factor and hinge feature: You hit a button, and the screen pops out to serve as an enormous tablet. Plug the screen on backwards, and you can use the keyboard as a kickstand. It is up to 50% faster than before, and it provides superior graphics performance capabilities to engineers, executives, power users, artists, designers, data scientists, and gamers, featuring GPU options of NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650, NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Ti or NVIDIA® Quadro RTX™ 3000, with fast, quiet Max-Q Design.

The new Surface Dock 2 instantly transforms your Surface into a desktop PC with all the next-gen ports you need, including USB-C®, built to maximize efficiency at the office, in a flexible workspace, or at home. And finally, the Surface USB-C® Travel Hub provides five ways to stay productive anywhere and is compatible with modern PCs and all Surface laptops with a USB-C® port.

“Our belief that technology should serve to reduce complexities and make our employees’ lives easier led us to empower them with the powerful Microsoft Surface Book. Along with Microsoft 365, these devices provide optimal tools to boost productivity and ensure secure work from anywhere. With Microsoft Surface Book and Office 365 applications, our employees use day-to-day essential features that were not possible before, including touch capability on the detachable tablet, a Surface Pen to take notes digitally when needed, edit documents in the same time with other team members, and automatically back up data to OneDrive.’’ said Mohammad Amin Osman, Head of Business Development at Emirates Foundation, United Arab Emirates.

Microsoft Surface Go 2, Surface Book 3, Surface Dock 2, and Surface USB-C® Travel Hub are available from authorized Microsoft Surface commercial partner and retailers across the United Arab Emirates. The Surface Go 2 starts at AED1,680. The Surface Book 3 starts at AED6,900, while the Surface Dock 2 starts at AED1,100 and the Surface USB-C® Travel Hub starts at AED390**.
