In the past few years, food trucks has become a common phenomenon in Saudi Arabia as they have been seen in several spots around the city such as, exhibitions, forums, public areas and events in general.
Additionally, food trucks have grown rapidly as a number of families have found a way to develop small businesses through trucks where they can display and sell their products such as, foods and goods.
A two-day food truck festival was launched at King Saud Medical City recently. Dr. Haitham Alfalah, CEO of the medical city, stressed the significance of the festival as it leads to social engagement as well as supports the creative initiatives of the Saudi youth.
He praised these activities as they reflect the potential of the Saudi workforce in pushing the acceleration of development in line with Vision 2030. King Saud Medical City received 51 projects of various families where they displayed their goods in the city at no cost.
Alfalah said the festival aims to open investment channels to encourage young Saudis in running small businesses and being active in the community.
The food truck festival has created a great impact in the city as it has enhanced the working environment for the staff at the medical city.
In addition, it has also brought joy to many passersby, patients, children, workers and hospital visitors, making the hospital an attractive facility for social engagement and small businesses growth.
