Sayidaty Arabic magazine honored MBC television channel for winning the top place in a survey conducted by the magazine on Ramadan programs in 2014 and it won the title of the Best Satellite Channel. Mohammed Fahad Al-Harthi, editor in chief of Arab News and Sayidaty, presented a certificate of excellence to Sheikh Waleed Al-Ibrahim, chairman of MBC Group, during a ceremony that reflected the strong relations between the two media groups. Addressing the ceremony, Al-Ibrahim praised Sayidaty for conducting the survey and said its surveys enjoy a high rate of credibility. “It has become a standard for assessing the success of Ramadan programs,” he added. Ali Al-Hudaithy, general supervisor of MBC Group, and Ali Jaber, director of the group, were among the media leaders present at the ceremony. MBC won the top place in the survey conducted by the magazine on Ramadan dramas telecast by Arab satellite channels and won the title of the Best Arab Channel while its slogan “Ramadan brings us together” was selected as the best Ramadan slogan. In his speech, Al-Harthi commended MBC’s Ramadan programs for winning the largest number of viewers. “This reflects the great vision of the channel and its managers and executives,” the editor in chief said, adding that MBC programs have been winning top positions in Sayidaty surveys. Sayidaty was not surprised over MBC reaching the top position in its survey, Al-Harthi said. “The channel has won the first place on the basis of votes received from Arab viewers across the globe.” Al-Harthi said that MBC has always stood out with its world-class programs based on an advanced media vision that looks beyond mere entertainment while producing its serials and cultural programs. “MBC has been successful in presenting excellent Ramadan programs to its viewers every year and the credit goes to its founder Sheikh Waleed Al-Ibrahim, who achieved his dream of making it the most popular channel in the Arab world since its formation in 1991 until today,” he pointed out. Al-Ibrahim has won the title of “The pioneer of satellite media” in the Middle East in the beginning of 1990s after launching MBC in 1991, which paved the way for the opening of hundreds of Arab channels. After a few years, he launched the MBC group with specialized channels for films, action and children. The latest addition to the group was MBC Egypt. Sayidaty also honored other winners of the survey on Ramadan programs in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
