New international success for Margraf: the company from Vicenza, a world leader in the extraction and processing of marble and ambassador for the excellence of design "made in Italy" all over the world, promoted the conference "The Evolution in the Use of Marble in Architecture," in partnership with the National Association of Architects of Azerbaijan, Fila Industria Chimica and Kerakoll. It was held on March 13th, in Baku, at the Four Seasons Hotel.
The initiative, which involved the most renowned design firms in Central Asia and local institutions, had a great turnout: many architects joined enthusiastically to study issues relating to the application of marble, a natural and eternal material, as a luxury finish for interiors and exteriors of private residences, hotels and public places.
The high-profile audience included, among others, the Chairman of the Architects Association, Mr. Elbay Gasim-Zada, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Vagif G. Aliyev, and the Deputy Chairman of the Architectural Development Association of the Baku government, Mr. Dovlətxanov Dovletkhan.
Margraf has a long history of major projects throughout the region, including The Four Seasons Hotel in Baku, where it supplied the fine marble for the interior and made the precious artistic mosaics, the restructuring of the Juma Mosque in Shamakhi, a marvellous example of Islamic architecture dating from 743-744 AD, and the new President Jazz Club in Baku, a symbol of the capital's urban redevelopment.
