Makkah emir to open Jeddah Economic Forum today

Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah and adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, will inaugurate the Jeddah Economic Forum 2016 (JEF) at Jeddah Hilton on Tuesday.

More than 80 high-profile Saudi and international economic experts and business leaders will attend the three-day event with the theme of “Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs): Collaboration for Impact.”

The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), the main organizer of the forum, said that preparations have been completed to make the annual event a resounding success.

The forum will further strengthen the Kingdom’s position on the global economic map, according to Sheikh Saleh Kamel, chairman of JCCI.

Delegations from more than 40 countries will take part in the event, which coincides with the National Transformation Program, initiated by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs. It will be a platform for the Ministry of Economy and Planning to present their privatization strategy and showcase opportunities in the housing, transport, energy, water desalination, aviation, health, and education sectors.
