M Hotel Makkah by Millennium, a 5-star hotel located in the heart of the holy city of Makkah, joined millions of individuals and organizations from around the globe on the 30th of March 2019 in supporting Earth Hour imitative showcasing the need to take actions against the environmental threats including climate change.
Guests and employees in M Hotel Makkah by Millennium participated in this global movement by switching off non-essential lights and appliances in common areas, the lobby, external signage and participating guests’ rooms for an hour from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The participants gathered in the lobby of the hotel to lit candles during Earth Hour as a symbolic action towards saving energy, conservative consumption of natural resources and brightened future for next generations.
Mohamed Abdel Fattah, General Manager at M Hotel Makkah, stated, “The need for tangible actions towards climate change is increasing more than any time before. M Hotel Makkah by Millennium is participating in this international movement to emphasize our commitment towards protection Earth and sustainable environment for future generations. We have taken action in this regard such as installing energy saving lights and smart lights in the common areas to reduce energy consumption, and we pledge to our guests that more sustainable solutions will be adopted to help protecting mother Earth, cut emissions and lessen our carbon footprint.”
