The world of luxury special events and weddings is witnessing a dramatic shift in demand and preferences globally. With the emerging markets, clients are exploring the world for their milestone celebrations. The key trends that continues to influence luxury clients is the focus on the experiential and personalization.
Experts in the luxury special events industry from more than 40 countries gathered in Lake Como, Italy from 29th-31stOctober for the Planners Xtraordinaire Showto highlight the latest trends in the world of luxury special events. Brought to you by the makers of the Destination Wedding Planners Congresswhich is recognized as the world’s strongest business platform for destination wedding planners, the 2ndAnnual Planners Xtraordinaire Showprovided an unparalleled opportunity to do business in the lap of luxury. An exclusive closed-door by-invitation only business platform that took place at the Sheraton Lake Como Hotel, the Planners Xtraordinaire Showwas a celebration of luxury special events that brought together the leading connoisseurs along with some of the top suppliers of the luxury special events industry.
With the focus of the event being on a niche market, the speakers at the conference touched upon topics relevant to planners and suppliers catering to the elite. Wellness & authenticity, digitization, personalization, and spending patterns of luxury clients were some of the subjects that were a part of the comprehensive conference agenda.
David Tutera, renowned celebrity wedding planner, author and TV star explained the importance of providing the ultimate experiential event with a personal touch. “As the industry is growing bigger, we don’t take time to create a unique experience for the clients, which we must. Each client needs to be given a special treament” remarked David. Holding similar views, Andrey Fomin, known as the ‘Legend of the Russian Event Industry’ said “When you work with high-profile clients, the event cannot be mediocre, this is standard throughout the industry irrespective of whether it is Russia or any other destination in the world.”
Based on the views of the attendees, it was concluded that Russia, China and UAE are the major markets that are showing a significant growth in the luxury sector. Tarun Tahiliani, one of India’s top celebrity couture designers, and Sonal J Shah, USA’s well-known celebrity cross-culture wedding expert rightly explained the reason for this in their joint session at the PX Show. They mentioned “The South Asian market is growing and needs to be capitalized on. The budgets are only going to get higher because South Asian clients just want to do things differently and on a very large scale so they spend lavishly. The key is to know how to capitalize on that big budget
by understanding their requirements.” From creating the experiential event and moving on to personalization and spending patterns of the rich, another key element that was essential to the conference was digitization. “Digital presence is what interests the new consumers. Suppliers and planners need to make their presence felt online, because in today’s world, social media and the web plays an integral role in attracting clients” explained Alessandro Carnicella, a luxury brand consultant and the CEO of Brand Partners Group in Italy.
Due to the exclusive format that included conferences, 1-1 business meetings and ample networking opportunities, the Planners Xtraordinaire Showwas successful in giving an insight into the luxury special events sector. Moving from luxury events, QNA International, the organisers of the PX Show are now gearing up to bring leaders from the destination wedding industry to share their experiences and source global suppliers at the upcoming 6thAnnual Destination Wedding Planners Congress.
