Awesome officially starts now as LEGOLAND® Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, the region’s largest integrated theme park destination, opened its gates to hundreds of guests yesterday with an unforgettable opening ceremony.
The LEGOLAND Billund Marching Band kicked off celebrations, which included a choreographed dance number from the LEGOLAND® costume characters, spreading smiles across faces of excited flag-waving fans who then took part in a 10 second countdown to opening.
Siegfried Boerst, General Manager of LEGOLAND Dubai, officially opened the region’s first LEGOLAND theme park, along with Nick Varney, CEO of Merlin Entertainments and Raed Al Nuaimi, CEO of DXB Entertainments, owner of Dubai Parks and Resorts, by pushing a giant red LEGO® button, launching a pyrotechnic show and sending multi-coloured streamers into the sky before the kabuki curtain dropped, revealing the colourful theme park.
