On the first anniversary of their appointments Friday, citizens and expatriates hailed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their efforts to steer the country onto a path of stability and prosperity.
Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Dya-eddin Bamakhrama, who is also Djibouti’s ambassador, told Arab News that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman had shown a great deal of wisdom in choosing the two men for crucial state positions.
The crown prince is the deputy premier, interior minister and heads the Council for Political and Security Affairs; while the deputy crown prince is the defense minister and heads the Council for Economic and Development Affairs.
Bamakhrama said that the two men had shown considerable management skills. “And after a year, and a succession of events in the region and the world, we’ve found that the decision, with the help of Allah Almighty, was indeed right,” he said.
He said that he knows the two men as being leaders. The crown prince is widely known for his successful initiatives against terrorism; while his deputy has shown considerable insight in terms of defense and economics, he said.
Mexican Ambassador Arturo Trejo said the two men were the most suited to help the country on its path to ensure long-term sustainable development under its Vision 2030 strategy. This would be good for the Kingdom and other nations, he said.
Ananda Prasad Sharma, charge d’affaires at the Nepalese Embassy here, congratulated the two men on their first year at the helm of the country’s most important bodies. They would help develop the country, he said.
Zeyad Abdullah, a public relations manager in Riyadh, said that they would ensure a better standard of living for citizens, and a country that was peaceful and prosperous. He praised them for their commitment to the youth, education and public welfare programs.
