King launches 65 projects worth SR10.53bn in Arar

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman launched 65 development projects worth a total of SR10.53 billion during a public reception in Arar on Wednesday.

These include 17 education projects costing SR2.08 billion and municipal projects amounting to SR968 million.

King Salman attended a grand public reception hosted by the citizens of the Northern Border Region in Arar city on Wednesday night. Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Bin Sultan, emir of the Northern Border Region, a number of princes, high ranking officials and dignitaries as well as large number of citizens attended the reception.

The Monarch arrived in Arar from Al-Jouf in the last leg of his tour of the northern regions that also took him to Tabuk. On Thursday, the King will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several giant projects in the region. These include the inauguration of the first phase of Waad Al-Shamal Industrial City project worth SR55 billion and lay foundation stone for the second phase of the project in Turaif governorate.

On the occasion of the royal visit, King Salman has directed that Thursday will be a holiday for all educational institutions in the regions of Tabuk, Al-Jouf and the Northern Border Region.

On the auspicious occasion of the visit, King Salman has ordered the release of all insolvent Saudi prisoners whose financial obligations do not exceed SR1 million in the regions of Al-Jouf and the Northern Border Region. The King will bear the expense to settle dues of those prisoners who are not convicted of any criminal offenses.
