Riyadh-based King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz International Center for Arabic Language (KAICAL) is committed to stimulating scientific research and creating public awareness about the impact of language on all aspects of society.

To this end, KAICAL has designed a scientific work plan to create quality reading material on various topics that draw attention to them. “For the first phase of this project, the center has attracted 200 researchers, and has expanded their participation in the project at the international level,” said KAICAL Secretary-General Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi.
According to Al-Washmi, KAICAL is still working on the completion of the first phase of this project, which includes thirty research projects in total. He said that specialist editors and a group of writers were chosen following a thorough recruitment process, in order to perform linguistic and scientific research for the endeavor. He said that the research tracks have been divided into several categories: Computing linguistics, media, education, child language learning, and more.

KAICAL has recently launched a plethora of learning materials in the form of books, such as Arabic language learning tools for kindergarten schools, Arabic language teaching directives in Asia, Arabic computer skills for research purposes, and the introduction of Arabic language curricula in leading Arab universities.
These books were released at the headquarters of the center in conjunction with the ongoing Riyadh International Book Fair. KAICAL also highlighted their efforts to launch these scientific publications for access by individuals and organizations who have worked in partnership with the center.
