Jeddah Urban Development & Real Estate Investment Event Inaugurated

The 7th edition of the Jeddah Urban Development & Real Estate Investment Event, powered by Cityscape, officially opened its doors today, putting the spotlight on a range of projects that are set to alter the Kingdom’s landscape.

The Event was opened on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Misha’al bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah, by His Excellency Prof. Hani Mohammad Aburas, Jeddah Municipality Mayor.

Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the Event focuses on home ownership as well as efforts to build a tourism hub and create attractive real estate investment opportunities in the Kingdom.  The Event is being held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Misha’al bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, and will run until November 4th at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events, owned by the Jeddah Chamber.

Commenting on the opening of the Event, Mr. Hussein AlHarithy, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of National Exhibition Co., organisers of the Jeddah Urban Development & Real Estate Investment Event, said: “Over the next three days, the Event will launch and showcase mega-projects which will set the foundation for a robust real estate sector in the country. The timing of the exhibition is crucial for the real estate industry in the Kingdom, as fundamental changes in the country’s economy seek to stimulate development and investment.”

During the Event, exhibitor Sloanes Real Estate KSA will display the wealth of opportunities available in the residential sector. The company will exhibit a range of apartment units as part of its Bayat Plaza, two neighbouring towers situated in the heart of Jeddah. A unique building in Jeddah, Bayat Plaza consists of 272 modern apartments, duplexes and penthouses with 2600 sqm of retail space on the ground and first floors.

Sloanes KSA will also launch the third tower in the Bayat series of developments, which will comprise 40 storeys of hotel and commercial space. In addition, the company will launch exclusive off-plan properties in London.

Offering financial services and products to visitors, Saudi Hollandi Bank aims to demonstrate its commitment to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of increasing home ownership among citizens.

Thus, the company will launch its Home & Cash finance product, which allows customers to apply jointly with a spouse or a direct relative.

Looking at tourism in the Kingdom, this year’s Event will include developers looking to expand this sector and leverage the country’s cultural and ecotourism offering.

Vision 2030 calls for large coastal areas to be given over to tourism projects and for new investment in museums and historical sites to create internationally acclaimed attractions.

One of the speakers at today’s workshop, Dr. Sobhi Agha, Chief Marketing Officer at SAB Holding, stated that exhibitions such as the Jeddah Urban Development & Real Estate Investment Event create opportunities for dialogue, enabling developers to showcase projects that speak specifically to these needs.

“This will help promote steps to drive this type of tourism in the country,” said Agha. “It’s approaches like these that will help achieve Vision 2030 which will impact the economy in the next 20 years.”

He added that Vision 2030 encourages developers to build beach resorts for families as well as promote the country worldwide as a tourism destination. “They are taking the proper steps and measures to motivate people to visit Saudi Arabia, not only for religious tourism,” he concluded.

The Event also includes the coveted Real Estate Awards Jeddah 2016, which takes place later tonight. The awards are designed to reward industry professionals, developers and architects for their achievements in the Kingdom.
