Prominent Saudi star Mohammed Abdu will be performing live in Jeddah on Monday at King Abdullah Sports City — Al-Jawhara starting at 7 p.m.
Ticket prices start at SR350 up to SR2,000 and can be purchased online https://jeddah.platinumlist.net.
The long-awaited concert — the first in nearly seven years — will host two other well-known singers in the Middle East, Rabeh Sager and the Iraqi-Saudi singer Majid Al-Muhandis.
The three artists will be accompanied by the Egyptian orchestra of about 60 musicians led by maestro Walid Fayed who said in a tweet that he is “proud to accompany the Artist of Arabs in his concerts.”
The musical evening, organized by Rotana, is expected to draw over 8,000 spectators.
Rotana CEO Salim Al-Hindi was keen throughout the past few days to follow up all the preparations to offer an outstanding evening worthy of the return of musical concerts to Jeddah, and also worthy of the Saudi public that is thirsting for such evenings.
In past years, Jeddah featured live concerts held during summer festivals before they completely stopped for more than seven years, where they have been held in closed stadiums, Jeddah’s International Exhibition and Convention Center and private wedding halls with the participation of many leading singers from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and Yemen.
Mohammed Abdu, dubbed the Artist of Arabs, launched his masterpiece “Al-Amaken” in 2005 for the first time from the city of Jeddah during a memorable concert at the Jeddah Festival.
Abdu was set to perform live at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh during Eid festivities but it was later canceled.
