InterContinental Abu Dhabi has announced the appointment of new executive chef Chris Curtis to oversee day to day operations and cuisine for seven award-winning restaurants at the hotel, as well as banquet events and outside catering services undertaken by the property.
Originally from Australia, Chef Curtis brings more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry. The appointment is a homecoming for Chef Curtis to InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, who was previously Executive Chef at InterContinental Danang in Vietnam between 2011 and 2013 and Executive Sous Chef at InterContinental Shenzhen, China between 2006 and 2007. Prior to re-joining InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Chef Curtis headed up the F&B outlets at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa, Kuwait.
Chef Curtis will undertake responsibility for all seven restaurants at InterContinental Abu Dhabi including Chamas the iconic Brazilian restaurant launched in 2009, Circo which opened in 2015 offering authentic Italian cuisine with a twist, the classic European style Belgian Café and Byblos Sur Mer, the Lebanese restaurant offering al fresco dining and of course the legendary Fishmarket restaurant.
