Intercoil International, the region’s leading manufacturer, retailer and distributor of premium beds, bedding and bedroom furniture, has announced the opening of two new retail showrooms in Saudi Arabia. Located in Al Ehsaa and Jubail, the showrooms are among the first internationally to be branded under the new identity ‘The Bedroom by Intercoil’. The new locations will increase the company’s retail presence in the Kingdom to five retail outlets, including those already operational in Dammam, Al Khobar and Jeddah.

A UAE success story that has earned awards for innovation, social responsibility and business excellence, Intercoil International currently operates a chain of 23 retail outlets across the region and its products are distributed through reputable independent retails in 23 countries throughout the MENA region and the Levant. The company is also the exclusive licensee in the Middle East for leading US bedding company, Simmons, a preferred brand around the world for many decades.

“The Saudi Arabian furniture market is one of the fastest growing and dynamic sectors in the region, mainly due to infrastructure development and the increase in the real estate market in the country. The fact that 25% of our total international sales come from the Kingdom, combined with the strong appetite of the Saudi consumer for premium bedding products, makes the country one of the most interesting markets for Intercoil,” said Hassan Al Hazeem, Managing Director of Intercoil. “Our intention is to introduce Intercoil premium brands and bedding solutions to as many cities as possible in Saudi Arabia, and we plan to open another ten retail locations in the next 24 months in Makkah, Medina, Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar.”

Recent research commissioned by Intercoil and conducted by YouGov in October 2014 under the ‘Sleep Matters’ umbrella - a community initiative aiming to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy sleep - has revealed that almost 40% of KSA residents have trouble sleeping. According to the survey, the top factors that influence the quality of sleep are: daily life worries and stress, bedroom temperature, noise, and the quality of mattress, which the majority believes is the most important item in the bedroom.
