The International Monetary Fund (IMF) inaugurated a new regional office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to bolster partnerships with countries across the Middle East and beyond.
In a statement, the IMF said the new office will focus on promoting capacity building, enhancing regional surveillance, and fostering stability, growth, and regional integration.
Additionally, it will also strengthen the IMF's collaboration with regional institutions, governments, and other stakeholders.
Abdoul Aziz Wane, a Senegalese citizen, was appointed as the director of the regional office. With extensive experience as a veteran IMF official, he brings profound insights into the institution and maintains a broad network of policymakers and academics worldwide.
