IKEA Saudi Arabia’s Soft Toy for Education Campaign Raises SR300, 000 for Education

Ghassan Ahmed Al Sulaiman Furniture Trading, “IKEA Saudi Arabia,” reinforced its support for education through its Soft Toy for Education campaign, which ran from November to January, garnering approximately SAR 300, 000 for the Disabled Children’s Association (DCA).

To celebrate the achievements of this year’s campaign, IKEA Saudi Arabia hosted the children of the DCA at their service office in Jeddah, where they organized a morning of fun and entertainment. Media personnel were also present, where they witnessed the cheque handling ceremony and also took part in a round table, discussing the success of the campaign with IKEA Saudi Arabia’s CEO, Saud Al Sulaiman, and the Manager of the DCA, Dr. Zuhair Maimani.

Saud Al Sulaiman expressed his delight at the success of the campaign, one which falls in line with IKEA Saudi Arabia corporate social responsibility commitment and looks to contribute to the education of disabled children. Al Sulaiman said: “We are very happy that our community joined us in helping contribute to the bright futures of these precious children. Through this campaign, we were hoping to stimulate the community to stand in solidarity with disabled children, who deserve a right to quality education, and raise enough funds to help them build their futures.”

Dr. Zuhair Maimani, Manager of the DCA, expressed his gratitude for all the support from the IKEA Saudi Arabia co-workers who took part in making the campaign a great success, as well as the customers who contributed, stating: “We are pleased to share this joy with our children today and appreciate the continued support of the Soft Toy for Education campaign from IKEA Saudi Arabia and its customers. Today, we can see the tremendous support from the community and the dissemination of social solidarity. We have achieved our goals for a second year in a row now, thanks to the blessed efforts of all those who participated, and look forward to pave the way for our children’s bright futures.”

IKEA Saudi Arabia had launched the Soft Toy for Education campaign for a second year in a row across all its stores in the Kingdom, whereby five new soft toy characters were chosen to be the faces of the campaign. For every soft toy sold from November to January, IKEA Saudi Arabia donated two Saudi Riyals to children’s education through the Disabled Children’s Association. The aim of the campaign is to provide first-rate education to disabled children, enabling them to work towards a prosperous future.
