The Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) has said 850 jobs are available in various fields throughout the Kingdom under its Taqat program.
These include 112 positions in public administration, 100 in sales, 84 in operations, 43 in accounting, 6 in finance, 42 in human resources, 25 in information technology, 67 in public relations and communications.
Riyadh has the highest number of vacancies with 395 posts followed by the Eastern Province with 195 positions; Makkah has 191 posts; Asir 21; Qassim 19; Al-Baha 10; Madinah 8; the Northern Borders region 7; Tabuk 2 while Jouf and Hail has one vacant position each.
According to Samir Hussein, chairman of the Human Resources Committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce, these are all real jobs and reflect the number of available employment opportunities in a specific period in the private sector. It also shows the private sector's keenness to provide jobs.
He said Hadaf relies on statistics to determine the real number of unemployed persons in the Kingdom in order to deal with the issue appropriately and urged only serious job seekers to register with the program.
As for the difference in the number of available jobs in various cities, Hussein attributed this to the concentration of private sector activities in major regions which have good prospects for higher economic growth because of larger population.
The online employment site Taqat aims to help job seekers and those registered with the Hafez program as well as employers in the private sector. Taqat helps the private sector find employees to suit their vacancies and plays an important role in guiding unemployed person find jobs.
