Its architect Jean Nouvel took inspiration from Arabian architecture before designing the dome that comprises of 7,850 stars, splattered in different in sizes and angles across 8 layers. As the sun traverses across the horizon, its rays filter through these layers to create palm tree-shaped shadows in the museum interiors. This inspiring effect that has earned itself the moniker “Ray of Light”, and is a curious phenomenon that attracts visitors from all over the world. 

 

What makes the Louvre Abu Dhabi so monumental is the fact that it’s the first of its kind in the UAE to unite the civilizations and the heritage of mankind under one roof, making it a phenomenal addition to the country’s cultural landscape.
