In cooperation with the Zahra Breast Cancer Association and Jeddah College of Advertising, and themed “Draw Hope for a Pink Tomorrow” Hempel Paints, a trusted provider in decorative, marine, and protective coatings, offered students the opportunity to draw expressionist paintings to help raise awareness on breast cancer as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign. The students’ paintings were then gifted to the Zahra Breast Cancer Association, who were present at the event, distributing brochures and booklets along with pink ribbons at a designated booth
Colours have a positive effect on people and their moods, and each colour has different meanings. Pink is one of the most beautiful colours, and very popular among women because it means femininity, beauty, harmony, joy, generosity, and sacrifice. Representing life and beautiful feelings, pink strengthens emotional connections. The colour symbolizes children and girls, and represents love and innocence. In 1991, the Susan G. Komen foundation distributed for the first time pink ribbons to all breast cancer survivors and participants of the Komen New York City Race for the Cure.
“Paints are more than just colours we use at home,” said Mohamad Baitie, Regional Brand Manager at Hempel Middle East West. “Hempel’s latest experiment proved that colours have a great effect on behavior and mood -a fact that cannot be overlooked. Enjoying cheerful movements, and celebrating life, whilst consolidating values of authenticity and optimism, are features that Hempel seeks to establish. Based on this concept, and as part of our commitment to the Saudi society, this initiative was organized to create feelings of stability and serenity. We are pleased with our contribution to breast cancer awareness efforts in cooperation with the Jeddah College of Advertising and the Zahra Breast Cancer Association.”
Zahra is a healthcare organization promoting awareness and early detection of breast cancer among Saudi women. It seeks to offer preventive methods and limit its negative impact, working step by step with patients and survivors. The association also aims to activate comprehensive screening mammograms in the Kingdom, and offer guidance to patients to receive help through health cancer treatment centres.
