Health Ministers' Council for GCC Praise the IFM Conference and Exhibition and Honor the Organizers
the IFM conference and exhibition continues to expose the innovations and developments of the Family Medicine field in its program for the second consecutive day at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The IFM is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority. The topics discussed during the second day of the conference revolved around Chronic Illnesses such as: Diabetes, Obesity, Thyroid and how to manage them, prevent them and spread awareness among the community for these diseases in order to eliminate them.
On the sidelines of the conference, the IHF governing council members hosted their annual meeting today in Dubai. The meeting included 26 members from the IHF alliance and was presided by Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Special Advisor for the IHF in the Middle East and Dr. Eric de Roodenbeke, CEO of IHF. The participating members represent: Australia, Brazil, Finland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Kuwait, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, the USA, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.
The Members discussed the agenda of the alliance for the coming 5 years in addition to improving the polices of the hospital management, providing assistance, continuous training, encouraging the localization in the Health Sector in addition to highlighting the best practices that shall be adopted in this sector.
On another note, Dr. Prof. Tawfik Khoja, Director General and Executive Board of the Health Ministers Council for the GCC and Family and Community Medicine Consultant from the KSA awarded Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Director of the IFM and the Global Family Medicine Alliance for his continuous support and efforts in maintaining the Primary Health Care and Family Medicine fields. HE Essa Al Maidoor the Director General of DHA attended the awarding in addition to a number of senior specialists in the Family Medicine Field.
Dr. Tawfik Khoja also praised the efforts of Dr. Al Madani on behalf of all the GCC Health Ministers and he said: “We appreciate the effort accelerated by Dr. Al Madani through the past years in developing the Family Medicine and Primary Health Care fields. He is always keen to provide the best in those fields in the UAE and the region and for that we owe him a lot.”
