In light of the importance of industrial data and their central and reliable role in economic and investment decision-making in GCC countries, the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) holds a workshop entitled “Methods of Collection, Processing and Analysis of Industrial Data” at the Organization’s headquarters in Doha from the 10th till the 12th of November, 2015.
The workshop targets staff working in the area of industrial and economic statistics, statistics authorities, customs statistics departments, survey institutions, and research and development centres, in addition to industrial investors and consulting companies and entities and various concerned parties.
GOIC aims at raising awareness among participants on the best methods to collect data. They will get to understand technical concepts and definitions of data and information and scientific methods to collect, organise, summarise, present, analyse, explain and interpret the data. Eventually, participants will be able to use indicators based on the data to prepare reports, studies and plans and to make sound investment decisions.
Moreover, the workshop tackles various themes including: industrial data definitions and applications, the use of industrial surveys to collect data, industrial indicators, the International Standard Industrial Classification and its applications, product classifications and their applications, data analysis and calculating indicators using Microsoft Excel. In addition, GOIC experts will share their experience in collecting and analysing data through the Industrial Market Intelligence Portal (IMI Plus). The workshop also includes practical exercises and open discussions between participants.
This workshop is delivered by GOIC experts Mr. Mamdouh Habra, consultant at the Industrial Information Department, Mr. Saleh Taha, industrial data expert, and Mr. Hatem Al-Rashid, economic specialist at the Industrial Information Department.
