The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) concluded the industrial classification course held at its headquarters in Doha from the 23rd till the 25th of October, 2016. Participants received their certificates from His Excellency Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Hamad Al-Ageel, GOIC Secretary General, who highlighted GOIC’s role in strengthening the capacities of the Gulf industrial sector’s staff.
The participants who attended this training were employees involved in industrial classifications at the Ministry of Energy and Industry in Qatar, Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), the Public Establishment for Industrial Real Estate (PEIE) in Oman, Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Kuwait’s Public Authority for Industry (PAI).
The course that was delivered by Mr. Hatem Al-Rashid, economic specialist at GOIC, aimed at reinforcing the competencies of people working in the areas of industrial statistics, developing industrial statistical work and coordinating and unifying statistical methods adopted in various economic activities. The course also aimed to introduce the latest ISIC4 updates, conversion methods and the harmonised system (HS).
