The anticipation builds as the season approaches the Silver Cup Final 2019. The semifinals on the 05th of February saw two exciting matches at the grounds of Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club.
The afternoon opened with a game between Ghantoot Polo and Desert Palm Polo teams which took off with a quick lead for Ghantoot and ended the first chukker with 6 goals to 1. The team maintained its significant lead against Desert Palm through to half time at a 6 goal advantage. Efforts by the Castagnola brothers brought the scores in for Desert Palm, however, the excellent delivery of goals from Juan Gris Zavaleta kept Ghantoot ahead and bagged the win at 15 goals to 9.

An exciting game ensued with a face-off between two strong contenders of the Silver Cup – Habtoor Polo and UAE Polo. Both teams demonstrated a strong play and edged each other to a tie at 3 – 3 by the end of the second chukker. Tomas Panelo broke the tie from UAE Polo by the third chukker. The team kept the momentum and brought in 4 more goals by the fifth chukker both from Panelo and Alejandro Muzzio which closed the game with a score of 9 to 4 in favour of the UAE Polo team.

The Silver Cup, an 18-goal handicap tournament will conclude on the 08th of February 2019. Mahra Polo and Zedan Polo teams will compete in the Hildon Cup Subsidiary Final at 13:30 and Ghantoot Polo will play against UAE Polo in the Silver Cup Final at 16:00.
