n an effort to promote safety and hygiene in a time of prolonged virus threat, Geely Automotive launched the industry's first medically validated "CN95 air filter" in its vehicles’ air conditioning systems. Taking its cue from the N95 masks that are a hot commodity nowadays, the highly efficient CN95 Purification system sterilizes, removes odors and allergens, and filters at least 95 percent of impurities in the air. It is set to be used in all Geely models sold overseas.
More importantly, the “CN95 air filter” ensures a cabin environment free of bacteria and viruses thanks to an intelligent IAPS air purification system. That means occupants can rest assured that they are safe from viruses as much as possible, at least within their Geely vehicle. It is like being encapsulated in a very large N95 facemask. Additionally, the "CN95 air filter" works in tandem with Geely’s Intelligent Air Purification System to effectively filter out dust, harmful gases and particulate matter.
In the past ten years, Geely Auto invested 100 billion RMB in R&D. And now, to further the fight against Coronavirus, the Company earmarked 370 million RMB of funding to promote the development of “healthy & intelligent vehicles”. Making full use of its expansive resources and global Research & Development network, and benefiting from its continuous cooperation with the medical and scientific community, Geely Research Institute started a comprehensive research and development program in February for "all-in-one healthy vehicles". That colossal and fervent effort resulted in the announcement of the industry's first "CN95 air filter", which obtained the "CATARC CN95" certification (Certification No. 001) from China Automobile Research Huacheng Certification Center, making it the first vehicle air conditioning filtration system in China to be officially certified by China Automobile Research Institute.
This certification includes multiple verifications, which comprise the following: KN95 level filtration efficiency of ventilation system filter materials, air conditioning filter efficiency ≥ 95%, air conditioning ventilation system's purification ability and rate of particulate granule introduced by switching doors or smoking (3 min purification rate > 99%) and micro-positive pressure environment verification in the cockpit. Moreover, the "CATARC CN95" certification ensures a high standard of solid granule and aerosol filtration protection, which is important for improving air quality and protecting the health and safety of passengers.
