GE’s Nabil Habayeb receives Takreem Award for excellence in Corporate Leadership

Nabil Habayeb, GE’s President & CEO for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT), was honored with the Takreem Award for Corporate Leadership in recognition of his outstanding leadership in improving the lives of people in the region and for serving as an inspiration for Arab professionals to excel in their careers. 

 

Habayeb received the award from representatives on behalf of Takreem at the award ceremony held in Dubai. The selection committee recognized the role that he has played in aligning GE’s regional strategy to help solve the toughest challenges in the MENAT region by working in close partnership with customers, governments and communities. 

 

On his recognition, Habayeb said: “The recognition by Takreem is truly overwhelming. It recognizes the diligent efforts of our teams at GE in partnering with the social and economic progress of the region. At GE, we have a responsibility to support the communities we operate in by building local capacity, driving local innovation, and establishing the right infrastructure to meet the needs of future generations. This award belongs to all our fantastic employees who are really passionate about making an impact on the development of this region.”

 

Established in 2010, Takreem identifies and honors Arabs who have excelled in their field and inspired others in their quest for cultural, educational, scientific, environmental, humanitarian, social and economic excellence. 

 

A veteran professional at GE with over three decades of experience in senior managerial positions, Habayeb leads GE’s operations in MENAT with a particular focus on complementing the region’s developmental goals. 

 

A member of GE’s Corporate Executive Council, he drives the company’s regional growth with an emphasis on strengthening partnerships, promoting localized innovation and empowering human capital development. He serves on the boards of INJAZ Al Arab, the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, the Arab Forum for Environment and Development and the US–Saudi Business Council. He is also a trustee of the Balamand University, and the American University of Beirut.
