Gabon leader arrives in Jeddah

Gabon’s President Ali Bongo Ondimba arrived in Jeddah on Monday. 

Makkah’s deputy governor and other top officials received him at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport.

The visiting president performed Umrah.

Saudi Arabia and Gabon enjoy cordial ties.  Gabon opened its embassy in the Kingdom in 1976.

Following his election as the president of Gabon in 2016, Ali Bongo Ondimba had praised Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and said his country was inspired by the Saudi reform plans.
