Free-of-cost ‘SIS Innovation Camp’ – A unique commitment to the UAE Year of Giving

Continuing its commitment to the ‘Year of Giving’ and ‘UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030’, Sabari Indian School (SIS), is hosting a three-day free-of-cost ‘Innovation Camp’ for children across the UAE. The all-skills based camp is open to children of ages (4-15 years) with over 60 Schools and Nurseries being a part of the initiative. The first day had attendance of around 500 students from the host school and from Horizon English School, ABC Nursery, Smart Minds, Tiny Tots and others.

 

Spearheaded by Sabari Indian School, the Innovation camp was a Sabari is a generous act of ‘Giving of Joy and Learning’ to the children and UAE community.

 

“Sabari Indian School is opening its doors and hearts to kids in need of a little extra spirit over the holiday season. The SIS journey of ‘Giving’ is unique and all-encompassing. What started with a ‘Children for Children’ initiative followed with the ‘Carnival of Giving’ and will end with the free-of-cost ‘Innovation Camp’. At Sabari, our aim is to just reach out to all kids across the UAE and offer them an interactive, entertaining and educational experience free-of-cost,” said Ms. Karan Brown, Associate Director, Indian Schools, Al Najah Education.

 

The Innovation Camp features a range of activities including Vedic Math, Trashion Show, Drone Prone and loads of other fun-filled activities. The camp is being volunteered by a total of 50 teachers, parents, professionals and experts from the community and schools who aim to make a difference in the lives of the children in the UAE.

 

“We are very excited to be hosting the ‘Innovation Camp’ which is in line with the UAE’s vision of integrating technology and artificial intelligence into learning,” said Latha Venkateswar, Principal, Sabari Indian School. “The SIS Innovation Camp enabled children to make connections to the umbrella theme of Expo 2020, ‘Connecting mind and Creating the Future’.”  Added Ms Venkateswar. All the activities are meticulously planned and linked to ‘Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability’.

 

Sabari Indian School has invested heavily in technology and in software to improve the quality of education to ensure that its children are safe within the realms of reach - real or virtual.  The school recently organized a four-week training for parents and teachers who work with children with determination as yet another act of ‘Giving’. Sabari Indian School which operates under Al Najah Education LLC has been a part of several initiatives including Dubai Cares Walk for Education, Somalia Relief Fund, Adoption of endangered animals from WWF, the Mega ‘Children for Children’  campaign, the Carnival of Giving and many more.
