Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA) will host an array of entertaining and educational activities including competitions, workshops, shows and a maritime parade in celebration of UAE’s Martyr’s and National Day.
The Authority also announced that entry to all its 16 museums will be free of charge on December 1st and 2nd.
As part of SMA’s celebrations, Sharjah Fort (Al Hisn) is inviting all family members to join them next Saturday for a fun-fueled day comprising workshops for adults and children, traditional competitions, folkloric performances, traditional games, puzzles and band shows.
In collaboration with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, works by disabled people will be showcased at Sharjah Fort (Al Hisn) as part of the festivities, in addition to a photo gallery for Emirates Photography Society.
Moreover, the activities offer visitors henna designs and treat them to a taste of the UAE at an allocated booth for traditional food and Arabic coffee.
National Day celebration at Hisn Khor Fakkan kicks off on November 30 and include workshops on UAE forts, a heritage studio, a display of ships modules and their local names, traditional customs and herbs, and a calligraphy workshop using the colours of the UAE flag.
Hisn Khor Fakkan will additionally host an exhibition showcasing photographs of Khor Fakkan in cooperation with Mohammed Khamees ben Aboud, author of “Khor Fakkan in History” book.
Meanwhile, a three-day celebration at Sharjah Maritime Museum starts on Saturday November 30th with a number of entertaining events taking place including various workshops, traditional performances, games and bands, in addition to traditional Emirati crafts and professions, while children will be engaged through exciting contests and outdoor cinema shows.
On December 2nd, the maritime parade will kick off from Sharjah Maritime Museum’s harbor at 1:00pm. the parade will see a distinctive traditional boats and yachts with participation from Sharjah police boats, leisure boats, and the coast guard.
Having announced that entry to all its 16 museums will be free on December 1 and 2 from 8:00am to 8:00pm, Sharjah Museums Authority encourages all community members to visit its museums and join their celebration of this occasion.
