Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider, held its first edition of Huawei Saudi Arabia Mobile Congress in Riyadh under the theme “Enabling the Future Together”, from 1stto 18thApril. Huawei showcased the latest technologies and solutions that will support the Kingdom in achieving its Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Plan 2020 goals.
Catering to the large dairy sector in the Kingdom, Huawei showcased the Connected Cow solution, which analyzes the rut of cows based on NB-IoT solutions, enabling farmers to analyze and maximize the production of milk. The event, which was held at Huawei Customer Solution Integration and Innovation Experience Centre (CSIC) in Riyadh, also highlighted VR broadcast, which collects panorama view footage from a 360 degree camera and transfers data to end users with a VR terminal, allowing users to experience a situation as if they were there in person. Use cases include football games, crime scenes, and others. Huawei’s Smart Metering that monitors gas and water usage based on Cellular-IOT technology was also on display.

Over the course of the event, Huawei showcased the latest developments in Data Center Fabrication, Video Cloud, the first 5G CPE Huawei Chipset, Huawei 5G network support up-to 20Gbps in hotspot areas, and X-Haul, a 5G-oriented transport Network solution. In addition, global E2E 5G product and solution 1st 5G CPE Chipset produced by Huawei.
Key telco operators in the kingdom attended the event, in addition to government bodies, educational institutions, startups and media partners. Members of the Huawei “Saudi Future Leaders” were also in attendance and showed interest in IoT &VR applications developed by Huawei.
At the Mobile World Congress 2018 held in Barcelona in March, Huawei outlined a vision for 5G by unveiling their latest solutions and shared its vision for a collaborative ecosystem that can stimulate innovation and the development of 5G, All-Cloud network, video, and IoT technologies.
Huawei received eight awards from GSMA including Outstanding Contribution to the Mobile Industry Award, which recognizes Huawei for decades of advocating new technology, building out the digital ecosystem, and social responsibility.
