A call to action in the preservation of the Earth’s natural resources for better life sustainability

First Central Hotel Apartments, managed by Central Hotels, one of the fastest hospitality companies in the UAE, turned off its lights as it joined the 7,000 cities and millions of people around the world who observed Earth Hour, the annual global campaign to combat the persisting effect of climate change.

Candles were lit in the hotel premises from 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening of March 28 as the lights of its external building and other internal lighting went off as a symbol of the hotel’s support on energy conservation and environmental protection.

First Central Hotel Apartments has been actively participating in the observance of the phenomenal movement of switching the lights off for one hour, including other environmental friendly activities which aim to augment valuable attention and call to action in preservation of the earth’s natural resources for better life sustainability by reducing wastage of energy, water consumption, and cut carbon emissions.

Simultaneously done by most of the hotels and famous landmarks in the city, Dubai recorded to save electricity usage of 255 MWh and 153 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions in just one hour.

Pioneered by World Wide Fund (WWF) in Australia last 2007, Earth hour has been successfully engaging individuals, households, organizations, and businesses in embracing the idea of an open source campaign in guarding the planet from massive and fast destruction.
