“Fiqh Al Almandhomah” Ramadan Program Commences on YouTube

As Muslims around the world marked the first day of Ramadan, Dr. Abdullatif bin Mohammed Al Afaliq launched his introductory program titled “Fiqh Al Almandhomah” on YouTube to encompass the largest segment of Saudi and Arab audiences.

The program was initially meant to be shown on one of the leading and widespread Arab satellite channels; however, negotiations to air the program in prime-time hours failed, due to the very high competition for viewers’ attention between TV shows and series during Ramadan.

“The program aims to provide a new and unconventional vision to achieve better understanding of life and all of its components and features, as well as the spiritual and physical aspects of life, because life is an integrated system,” commented Al Afaliq.

“The Saudi Vision 2030 has brought about numerous changes that citizens and residents must understand. These fundamental changes are taking place in many other countries, not only in Saudi Arabia; and Fiqh Al Almandhomah’ key objective is not only meant to help people cope with these changes but also to encourage them to positively take part in these changes,” he added.

Al Afaliq indicated that “Fiqh Al Almandhomah” is a social development program that embraces a new philosophy to find appropriate and viable solutions to the various problems faced by community members. Conceptually, the word ‘Fiqh’ means the human attempt to understand the system of life.

In upcoming episodes, “Fiqh Al Almandhomah” will discuss a wide variety of topics about human interaction with society and life. Other subtitles include ‘Son of the Universe’, ‘Loss of the Compass’, the ‘Hungry Spirit’ and other titles that will be revealed within the coming days.

One of the program’s highlights is a sequence that has not been officially aired, which features an emotionally-charged conversation between Dr. Abdullatif and his mother several years after her death, with some events taking place in real life and others in his dreams. The story aims to suggest that life, despite its simplicity, is a comprehensive and intricate system.

The program, which consists of 13 episodes, was filmed in Cairo Studios, and will be aired during the holy month of Ramadan, especially during the odd-numbered days.

It is worth mentioning that TV shows series produced and aired during the Holy Month of Ramadan account for 40 per cent of the programs produced yearly. Star-studded dramas, comedies, variety and game shows take over TV screens throughout Ramadan, with close to none slots allocated for serious programs such as “Thoughts” program (“Khawater”) by Dr. Ahmad Alshugairi.
