Fakih IVF Fertility Center’s Free IVF Cycle Award Spells Hope for Couples

Fakih IVF Fertility Center, one of the leading infertility centers in the GCC region, has announced that, for a second year, it has granted one couple the opportunity to achieve their dream of parenthood.

Committed to helping to alleviate the UAE’s rising infertility rate, Fakih IVF Fertility Center randomly selects one couple from among its consultative patients to receive an IVF cycle, free of charge, each year, during National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW).

Fakih IVF, ones of the IVF centers in the region with an in-house Genetics Laboratory, continually strives to improve medical protocols and invests in the latest technology, including the introduction of the ground-breaking EmbryoScope technology to the UAE

Last year, the Center chose British nationals Mr. and Mrs. Massam, who had been trying to conceive, without success, for more than three years, and for them, the free IVF cycle proved nothing short of a dream come true.  Shortly after the embryo transfer, the couple received good news that the procedure was successful and returned to the clinic to hear their babies’ heartbeats for the first time. The Massams, who were treated by Dr. Marta Ramos, Specialist Reproductive Medicine- IVF from Fakih IVF Dubai, welcomed twins, earlier this year.

Fakih IVF Fertility Center treats over 5000patients each year, and depending on the nature of the infertility issue, couples may be required to complete several IVF cycles until conception is successful.

Dr. Michael Fakih, Founder and Consultant in Reproductive Endocrinology and IVF at Fakih IVF Fertility Center, said: “Infertility is a disease that can feel isolating, and yet infertility affects millions of people world-wide, which is hardly an isolated community. National Infertility Awareness Week is a movement to raise awareness about the disease of infertility and our support of NIAW helps to break down barriers of isolation and loneliness. Infertility does not only include those who have trouble getting pregnant, but it includes those who have trouble staying pregnant, as well.

We understand that when couples come to Fakih IVF Fertility Center they are placing their trust in us - and it's not just in our medical and technical skills, but in our understanding of their emotional as well as physical needs. It's a responsibility we don't take lightly. All of our staff are committed to each patient’s wellbeing because we understand the emotional intensity of trying to have a child and we support each patient, every step of the way.”

Fakih IVF’s journey of making little miracles every day continued this year, when it awarded Mr. Tejada and Mrs. Victoria Bamert the opportunity to conceive. The couple, who celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary, and have attempted conception for more than three years, recently completed their IVF cycle and are awaiting results.

After being selected, the Bamerts immediately began their IVF treatment at Fakih IVF Clinic in Dubai. Their case was assessed and a treatment plan was designed specifically for them. Given the costs associated with IVF treatment, the Bamerts found it difficult to afford treatment without financial assistance, and expressed that they were thrilled to be offered the chance to become parents and their excitement to start this journey.

“Being selected for a free treatment is something we did not expect,” commented Mrs. Bamert, “We felt very happy to get this unique opportunity, especially that we have been trying now for a while, and we are looking forward to get on with the treatment and hopefully will have positive results.”

Mrs. Wafaa El Ali, Deputy CEO of Fakih IVF Group, commented by saying, “Seeing couples achieve their dream of parenthood is what drives passion in us, and being able to help a couple get one step closer to their dream is a very rewarding feeling. We understand the cost of IVF may be an obstacle for some, therefore, by offering a free IVF cycle each year we are hoping to reach out to those couples and increase their chances of becoming parents. This is one of the many things we, at Fakih IVF, do in order to show our commitment and dedication to helping our community and it’s people.”

As part of it’s ongoing commitment to help families grow and ultimately achieve the highest success rates, the Center held its 7th annual UAE Reproductive Symposium in Dubai, earlier this year. The two-day symposium, which has grown from a regional event into a respected global forum that is accredited by the Dubai Health Authority, unites leading sector experts who share the latest advances in reproductive medicine, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote Dubai as a global hub for medical excellence.

According a recent report issued by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), approximately 50 per cent of women face infertility issues. Statistics also reveal that women in Dubai seeking treatment, per year, could nearly double, from 5,975 in 2015 to 9,139 by 2030.
