Escape to the picturesque Baku this EID

Eid Al Adha is the next holiday season everyone is expecting, its set to fall during the third week of September, so this is the time to start planning a memorable holiday, be it a four day minibreak or a week-long excursion. Celebrate the festive holidays this time in Baku which can be reached within two and a hours from GCC Countries.  

With about two weeks to book, hotels both regionally and international chain properties are offering attractive prize for the upcoming Eid, including airport transfers, all-inclusive meals, free stays for children, discounts on spa treatments and much more.

 

Baku is witnessing the influx of international hotel brands that are attracted to the opportunities presented in the capital city of Azerbaijan. JW Marriott, Hilton, Four Seasons, Fairmont, Kempinski, Jumeirah, Hyatt and other brands has already been around for some time. However, Holiday Inn, Trump Hotels, Rixos, InternContinental, Swissotel as well as local brands such as Absheron Hotel Group and Qafqaz Hotels have properties that are either newly opened or on their final stage of construction.

Being a country with 94% Muslims , Azerbaijan is all set to celebrate Eid al Adha, the "Big Eid".  The holiday can be as many as four days long, making it a popular time for people to travel. 

 

Baku has an astounding Boulevard and they have been extended to the end of the new project The White City. Martyrs Lane, Ateshgah,  Yanar Dagh,  Azadlig Square, Heydar Aliyev Center, Museum of Modern Arts, Maiden Tower, Old City, Metro stations, Flame Towers, Highland Park, , State Flag Square, Ferris Wheel, Azneft Square, Puppet theatre, Museum Centre and  Seven Beauties fountain are few spots you should not miss to visit during your trip. Hamams mostly in the Old City area are worth a try.

 

Do not miss to see the fire temple, as well as the flaming landscape of Yanar Dag, and three mosques of interest on the Absheron Peninsula.

Within a distance covered in two and ahalf hours from the capital is Quba and Shahdag. Quba, is becoming interestingly famous because of the new resorts like Rixos in the region. Shahdag which is famous for its Summer and Winter sport Complex the biggest in the Caucasus region is acclaimed even by the royal families in Arab countries. The region have high end resorts which opens a luxury travel segment.

Try to visit (200 kms round trip) to Qobustan to see the outstanding petroglyphs and the mud volcanoes. The petroglyths merit their World Heritage site status and the mud volcanoes are such a curiosity. 

You could do other daytrips to Lahic or Sheki, it takes about 4hours to reach either of them, you would have a long day of it and in any case, there are interesting things about staying in either of these places.

 

You could delve into sub-regions like, Absheron, Ganja, Shaki-Zaqatala, Lankaran, Karabakh, Kalbajar-Lachin, which specifically geared to areas of interest like sports activities including Hunting and Fishing, Culinary packages, arts and culture and many more.
