Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and Mobily have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at LEAP 2026 to advance network operations and optimization and progress toward higher levels of autonomy, supporting Mobily’s ambition to reach Level 4 network autonomy in key scenarios. The collaboration supports Mobily’s strategy, with a strong focus on AI and autonomous networks, alongside Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation ambitions in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The MoU establishes a framework for Ericsson and Mobily to jointly prepare and implement autonomous network use cases using Ericsson Operations Engine, building on the existing operating model, which has contributed to the development of Mobily’s operations in recent years. The collaboration focuses on AI-enabled and goal-based autonomous operations within network management and optimization, supporting Mobily’s continued progress toward higher levels of autonomy.
Under the MoU, Ericsson and Mobily will explore use cases across operations automation, self-healing, optimization and energy management across Mobily’s multi-vendor network environment.
Through this collaboration, Ericsson and Mobily will explore how greater levels of network autonomy can help reduce the need for manual intervention in network operations, maximize the value of existing infrastructure, and investigate opportunities for network monetization, supporting the evolution of network operations toward higher levels of automation.
The MoU builds Ericsson and Mobily’s 20-year partnership, including a productive multi-year deployment of EOE, and continuous collaboration to introduce AI capabilities across network operations and optimization. The companies will continue working together to advance Autonomous Network Operations in support of Mobily’s transformation ambitions and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
