Energy Ministry launches bidding qualification for CNG projects

The Ministry of Energy announced the start of the qualification phase for bidders seeking to participate in compressed natural gas (CNG) distribution projects, including ownership and operation projects in Riyadh and the Eastern Province.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the ministry invited interested parties to contact it through the designated email address to participate in the tender process.

The ministry said the deadline for obtaining prequalification documents is June 18, while qualification submissions must be completed by July 30.

It added that the tenders form part of efforts to strengthen natural gas sector infrastructure, improve service quality, and create a competitive investment environment in the sector.

The ministry said the projects are an extension of broader efforts to expand sector services and enhance the use of technology to facilitate access to natural gas.

The projects are also expected to support the displacement of liquid fuels and accelerate the transition toward natural gas in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
