Empower extends support to ‘State of Green Economy’ Report

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, will extend its support to the ‘State of Green Economy’ Report by Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE), as a Platinum Sponsor. The Green Economy Report sheds light on Dubai’s accomplishments and achievements in developing and applying green economy charters in all the different sectors. It also highlights Dubai’s support for green economy and the reduction of carbon emissions.

“We are delighted to extend our support to the State of Green Economy Report. While the publication presents first-hand information on UAE’s green economic developments, it also provides us an opportunity to showcase our commitment to operate according to sustainability guidelines and principles. Our sponsorship is a reflection of our years of success and adoption of innovative strategies to minimise the environmental impact,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

The State of Green Economy Report was developed by the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (Dubai Carbon), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The publication indexes green economic development, offering a platform for national and international experts and thought leaders to share findings of research and development, solutions, tools, as well as replicable initiatives and case studies.

“At Empower we remain committed towards a green economy. It is an honour that we can support an initiative as the State of Green Economy Report which not only raises sustainability awareness among individuals, but also outlines innovative solutions for adopting green policies. We’re delighted to be able to contribute to this outstanding initiative that is certain to raise Dubai’s position as a global green leader,” added Ahmad Bin Shafar.

The State of Green Economy Report will showcase to the public a clear overview of the government’s plan and diverse public and private efforts, as well as a benchmarking of the country’s current standing.

Empower currently operates more than 1.25 Million RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World trade Centre Residences, Dubai Design District, among others.
