Emirates Rehab Centre receives coveted CARF international accreditation

Emirates Rehab and Homecare Centre, an advanced and comprehensive rehabilitation centre under Emirates Hospitals Group and owned by KBBO Group, has received the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) international accreditation. The CARF is the highest level of achievement for excellence for inpatient rehabilitation.

Dedicated to long-term recovery, comprehensive, convalescent and geriatric rehabilitation programmes and home health services nationwide in the UAE, Emirates Rehab and Homecare Centre is the first-of-its-kind healthcare provider in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The CARF is an independent, non-for-profit international organisation which applies standards developed by a set of qualified experts focusing on the development of quality rehabilitation services provided to patients.

Commenting on receiving the accreditation, Mr Pramod Balakrishnan, CEO of Emirates Hospitals, said, “We are pleased to receive the CARF International accreditation for Emirates Rehab and Homecare Centre in Dubai. This accreditation acknowledges Emirates Healthcare Company’s commitment to high quality care. It is vital to have a safe and stable healthcare system to provide reliable care. Quality healthcare complying with international standards will facilitate protecting the public from health risks.”

“The accreditation represents an accomplishment for Emirates Rehab and Homecare Centre and is an indicator of the extent of its commitment to the application of world standards in medical services in the rehabilitation field. Accreditation of professionals and healthcare facilities ensure the best patient safety levels and achieve the highest quality care standards. Patients are the biggest beneficiaries of the accreditation, as it ensures best practices and stringent standards in the quality of services provided to them,” he added.

The Emirates Healthcare Company recently partnered with the Dubai Health Authority to provide UAE patients with modern rehabilitation therapy services of ADELI Medical Centre, an international clinic for intensive neurorehabilitation based in Pieštany, Slovakia. This helps a number of UAE patients suffering from genetic, chronic and accidental neurological disorders.

Emirates Rehab Centre recently signed a partnership with Los Angeles-headquartered Barlow Respiratory Hospital to provide the highest quality respiratory rehabilitation and care for chronically critically ill patients in the UAE. This partnership will help to establish a global standard for management of complex respiratory diseases for patients in the region. This collaboration includes knowledge transfer on best practices in management and weaning of ventilated patients, training members of the EHRH interdisciplinary team, care of medically complex patients in a rehab setting and other technical collaborations.
