H.E Noura Bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, President of Zayed University, honored 1112 students for their excellence to receive the honorary degree "Dean's List" in the first semester of the academic year 2018-2019 at a cumulative grade (3.6 and above).
She said during the ceremony, which was recently held at the Zayed University Campus in Abu Dhabi, that we all are living in the age of information revolution that is rapidly evolving. The experience of learning in the present age should be matched and interacted with at a fast pace. Zayed University is keen to develop programs and courses in its various fields of specialization in order to meet the changing and evolving needs of the labor market.
Al Kaabi explained that the University's aspirations towards its students goes beyond their academic excellence and academic activities, but rather towards enhancing their ability to think independently, which gives them the advantage of identifying the essential elements of success in any responsibility they take post-graduation.
She also urged the university students to pay attention to the University's pioneering programs to contribute to the development of their abilities and develop their skills through participation in seminars, conferences and other events inside and outside the country, as well as to communicate with world leaders and to learn about their experiences and best practices.
"All of this contributes to the integration of your scientific and practical preparation, and it will be reflected in the advanced academic and cultural level of our students and graduates, as well as in attracting large public and private institutions, whether for training during the academic period or for post-graduation work," she said.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Reyadh Al-Mehaideb, Vice-President of Zayed University, and Dr. Michael Wilson, University Provost, Dr. Mohsen Onsy, Associate Provost and Chief Academic Officer, Head of Academic Affairs, Dr. Fatima Al-Darmaki, Dean of Student Affairs Deanship. The event was also attended by Deans, Faculty and staff members, and students’ families.
