Dubai will host the Fifth annual international ISO 31000 Risk
Management Conference for the first time in the Middle East.
The two-day event would commence on Oct.12 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai .
Global heavyweights including professionals and representatives of
corporations and public entities, have announced their participation
at the upcoming mega event.
ISO G31000 is the only international risk management standard accepted
by most G20 nations.
A wide range of educational material, 10 topics and networking
opportunities would be available during the Master Classes which would
be held prior the conference from 9 till 11 October .
"Following the success of the first international conference on ISO
31000 held in Paris in May 2012, the Fifth conference would address
the introduction of risk in all ISO Management Systems which is going
to impact millions of certified organizations , worldwide.
At that occasion, two new international ISO standards were presented :
ISO 45001 Occupational, Health & Safety (replacing OSHAS 18001) and
ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System. The second major theme would
address the link between risk, uncertainty, performance and
decision-making – a challenge for the global risk management community
active across all fields, sectors, industries and services related to
risk management,” said Alex Dali, President of G31000, the
international non-for-profit NGO dedicated to raise awareness on ISO
31000 standard management standard.
Regarding choosing Dubai as a venue for the conference Mr. Alex Dali said:
“Following the success of previous international ISO 31000 conferences
in Paris 2012, Toronto 2013, New York 2014, Cape Town 2015, it is
important to continue to raise awareness and to promote risk
management based on the international ISO 31000 standard in countries
which have not yet adopted ISO 31000 as national risk management
standard.
Bringing the 5th international ISO 31000 risk management conference to
Dubai would encourage the private and public sectors, local and
national governmental agencies in GCC countries to refer to ISO 31000
as an independent international guidance standard for risk management,
covering all types of risks, for all companies, any size, from any
industry or sector.
He added that the United Arab Emirates have regularly played a
significant role in opening GCC countries towards international
standards, excellence in innovation and world-class performance. Many
leading companies in the UAE have been referring to ISO 31000 for
their [Enterprise] Risk Management. We need to recognize their
advanced-thinking in risk management and the international ISO 31000
conference is a great opportunity to help GCC countries to understand
why and how risk management should be based on the international ISO
31000 risk management standard.
Answering a question about the importance of the Master Class and who
can benefit of it, Alex elaborated: G31000 has been leading the
development of ISO 31000 in the last 7 years with 65,000 individual
members today. In collaboration with most of the experts in ISO 31000,
part of the international Technical Committee ISO TC 262 in charge of
ISO 31000 and their national mirror committees, the G31000 Global
Institute has put in place a rigorous curriculum providing an in-depth
knowledge on the content of ISO 31000 and its principles, vocabulary,
framework and process. In the last 4 years, we have trained over 700+
risk professionals and a network of 130+ trainers are
approved/certified is now delivering courses, worldwide in English,
Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Russian and Dutch. The
international C31000 certification is dedicated to provide knowledge
going beyond a simple certificate paper so that risk professionals can
immediately implement ISO 31000 in their organization, saving time,
money and adopting the adequate understanding without paying huge
consulting fees.
